| | These beach front bungalows are cozy and on stilts raised up enough to look out on beautiful Soliman Bay and the Caribbean, even while you're lying in bed! The palapas have adjustable slatted mahogany shutters for wind control and thatched roofs, and are built from all native hardwoods. Between the two palapas is a shared lounge area, a great place to enjoy the breeze and view while socializing or reading a book. Below on the sand is a shaded area with table and chairs, some hammocks, and a few lounge chairs. For fun there are a couple of sea kayaks to paddle around the Bay. There is also good snorkeling in Soliman Bay. For cooking, the kitchen palapa has a gas grill, fridge, a couple ice chests, a Coleman 2 burner gas cook-top, drinking water and shelving with other kitchen essentials. You are welcome to use the kitchen to cook up your provisions. Since most visitors coming here would be renting a car, it is advised to buy groceries in Cancun (Sam's Club, Wall Mart, Costco) or Playa del Carmen on your way down because they are cheaper and the selection is better. Groceries are also available in nearby Akumal, Chemuyil and Tulum. There is also Oscar y Lalo's restaurant just 5 minutes away serving great seafood and cold beer on the beach. The bathroom is eco-friendly located in a separate palapa that has nice tiled surfaces and a lantern for those nocturnal trips. After sun down the owners light Tiki torches here and there to illuminate the grounds, but a flashlight is a good idea to bring along since the torches don't burn all night. | |
