Eco Tour and Copper Canyon 7 Nights

 

Day 1: Mexico City

Arrival and transfer to the hotel of your choice. Check in and overnight.Code ST

Day 2: Mexico City

Today you will be picked up from your hotel in the morning you will visit the main avenues and monumentsin Mexico City. Visit to the Main Square (Zocalo visit the National Palace with its beautiful murals painted by the famous Mexican Painter Diego Rivera,(closed on sundays) the Cathedral and the Ruins of what once was the Main temple of the Aztecs. Ten you will make a stop in a handicraft center, on to Chapultepec Park, Residential Area, where you will see some homes of famous artists.

Pyramids of Teotihuacan and shrine of Guadalupe. On the way to the sanctuary short stop by The Plaza of the Three Cultures where you see three different periods in the history of Mexico represented by three different kind of buildings: an archeological site, a catholic church and a modern building of foreign affairs ministry. You continue the tour to the Basilica, where you will see the original image of Mary appeared on a simple piece of fabric belonging to the Indian Juan Diego. You will see both Basilicas, the one of the XVIII century and the one devoted to the virgin almost three decades ago. On a modern highway we will reach the site of teotiguacan, where men become Gods, during your tour you will have the time and opportunity to climb the amazing pyramids as well as to visit the Palace of Quetzal-Butterfly, the feather snake Temple and the avenue of the dead.

Day 3: Mexico City - Los Mochis

Transfer from your hotel in Mexico City to the Airport. Flight to Los Mochis (Not Included). Los Mochis is a modern small city located in some the more fertile valleys of Sinaloa, Mexico. Just miles from the large bay and seaport of Topolobampo (where the La Paz-Topolobampo ferry lands), This city of 300,000 inhabitants has an international airport and modern bus station for travelers to reach the western terminal of the Chihuahua al Pacific railroad.

Transfer to the hotel on your own.

Day 4: Los Mochis - Divisadero

Transfer to the Train Station. Train trip to Divisadero.

The Divisadero and Areponapuchi train station is located 50 kilometers (30 miles) to the southwest of Creel. It is one of the most famous tourist spots of the whole Copper Canyon range. Before, it was accessible only by train, from Los Mochis or Chihuahua, but today, there is a country highway from Creel. This location has one of the most open viewpoints looking into Urique Canyon, which drops to a depth of 1,200 meters (3,960 feet). El Divisadero offers some of the best hotels of the range and receives a great number of international visitors. Its principal attraction are the views of Urique Canyon which you'll be able to enjoy them from the rooms of some of the hotels, and the opportunity to take guided tours into the canyon.

You will be taken to the Hotel. Dinner Included.

Day 5: Divisadero - Creel

Breakfast and Lunch Included. Morning at leisure. Transfer to the train station. On to Creel by train. Arrival transfer to the Hotel.

Creel is known as the "Gateway to the Copper Canyon". And it is a popular starting point for exploring the canyons. The town has the feeling of a late 19th century logging town and is set high - 2,340 meters (7,669 feet) - in the mountains in a valley surrounded by pine forest. As the canyon's largest town (pop. 6,500), Creel offers lodgings, tours & guides, restaurants, stores, a bank, and the main train station in the canyon. The town is located 250 kilometers (150 miles) from Chihuahua City and takes about 3-4 hours driving time.

Day 6: Creel - Chihuahua

Morning at leisure.

Transfer to the train station. On to Chihuahua by train. Arrival transfer to the Hotel.

Day 7: Chihuahua - Mexico City

Chihuahua is the state`s capital and second largest city (1.7 million), most visitors are either in transit overnight on their way south to Mexico's interior, or heading westward into the Sierra Tarahumara mountains on a Copper Canyon excursion. Only six hours from the El Paso, Texas, the city is a historical gem.

Chihuahua is a first class city and has all the facilities needed for the Copper Canyon adventurer. Chihuahua City Tour. Transfer to the Airport. Flight to Mexico City (Not Included). Transfer to the Hotel.

Day 8: Mexico City

Transfer out to the airport. End of services.
