We have a mangrove lagoon right behind the resort - nice for floating about quietly or casting for tarpon and snook. Kayaks are avaialble for use in the sea or in the lagoon. About an hour off shore lie the Chinchorro Banks, a complex of coral atolls an islets - destined to be the next great SCUBA-divers Mecca.
	By car, you can access the Mayan ruins of Kohunlich, Chacchoben or Dzibanché. Here's an opportunity to glimpse the rich Mayan lore that is off-the-beaten path of the tourist world (as yet!) And, Chetumal, the State Capitol, is a 2 hour drive away. There, you can visit the Museum of Mayan Culture as well as various restaurants and shops.
The classic KaiLuum tentalapa offers an experience like no other, it's rustic elegance! Meals at KaiLuumcito are fresh, wholesome and abundant. The ice and drinking water are (of course) purified.
