Mexico-An upscale Eco-Retreat near Puerta Vallarta Getting to know "Hotelito"... Along Mexico's Pacific coast, nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Sierra Madre Mountains, an enchanted paradise beckons those with an appreciation for nature and an affinity for the unique.
Nestled on a wetland estuary between the Sierra Madre Mountains and the Pacific Ocean, Hotelito is located on one of the most important sea turtle and bird reserves in Mexico.

Hotelito uses solar energy only for hot water for showers, cooking, and all other energy needs of the hotel. At night, hundreds of candles light the rooms and restaurant. Luminaries light the pathways that meander throughout the resort.
Just a short rowboat ride across the estuary, the Pacific washes ashore the pristine virgin beach, where sea turtles nest from June to January. Looking back east toward Hotelito, foothills leading to a distant mountain range cradle the area, completing the unforgettable panorama.
One of the true treasures of Hotelito is our staff, 90% of which comes from our neighboring village, Cruz de Loreto. Our guests find them caring, charming, and filled with the openhearted hospitality that is so much a part of Mexico.
Where we are located
Hotelito is located 60 miles south of Puerto Vallarta, and 3 miles from Cruz de Loreto, along the Costa Alegre in Jalisco Mexico.
Complimentary private car transfer from and to Puerto Vallarta Airport is offered to guests.
"Hotelito was created for the new millennium," explains Marcello Murzilli, creator and founder of Hotelito. "In every aspect, it speaks of change, and of taking care of nature".

Activities Have you ever galloped along miles of virgin beach at sunset? …biked though palm groves? …taken a siesta in a hammock, gently swaying over an estuary? …been massaged with essential oils al fresco? …played a game of billiards by candlelight? Isn't it time to enjoy some of life's irrefutable pleasures?
Available activities include horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, windsurfing, sailing, kayaks, billiards, birdwatching tours, beach volleyball, and hiking. From June to January, participate in the sunset releases of baby sea turtles from the protected nesting area.
Our Nature Reserve
More than 150 species of birds live on the land and the estuary surrounding Hotelito. Rowboat tours take you deeper into wooded areas teeming with an impressive variety of land and water birds (we provide binoculars)!
Beginning each June, sea turtles make their way to Hotelito's beach to lay their eggs. In this safe place, under the watchful eye of our staff biologist, you have the opportunity to witness the eggs hatching and the baby turtles scrambling over the beach toward the ocean. Nature here is as it was intended - alive, thriving, and free! We invite you to share in this remarkable experience that is the Hotelito.

Think camping out with luxury linens, gauzy netting draped seductively over the bed, and the romance of candles everywhere… With a symphony performed by cicadas, birds and frogs, you'll know this is no ordinary getaway; this is a place where you come to your senses.
This uncommon resort has been constructed in the style of an old Mexican fishing village. Accommodations are in 'Palafitos', bungalows of indigenous construction, built on stilts over the edge of the estuary that surrounds the main group of structures.
On the lagoon side of Hotelito, there are one Palafito Presidential Suite, three Palafito Master Suites, nine Palafito Suites and five individual Palafito Rooms found in larger villas. Eleven additional Palafito Beach Front (Nopalito) (including one suite) are located across the estuary on Hotelito's private beach. Nopalito rooms are found in beach bungalows that group four rooms around a common, open-air living area.
Wood floors and palapa roofs perfectly compliment the decorative details of the rooms – each color-splashed interior is unique, detailed with hand painted murals and whimsical antique curios that are unmistakably and memorably Mexican.
The décor of each palafito has been modeled after the Mexican lottery, a type of bingo game that uses images rather than numbers. Bathrooms have bamboo showers that provide privacy while giving the feeling of extending out into the garden.
There is no electricity; candles provide illumination at night, and solar-powered ceiling fans provide optional in-room cooling. Cleverly disguised solar panels and hot water holding tanks are located outside each room, where water for showers is stored until needed.
Palafito Master Suites: Each spacious and private Master Suite is approximately 800 sq. feet, has estuary, beach and ocean view. The unique décor of the Master Suites are tastefully appointed with Mexican antiques. Two of the Master Suites have king size beds and the other has two doubles queen beds draped with hand made gauze canopy, large bathrooms with oversized open-air showers, terrace and private dock with rowboat.

Palafito Suites: Individual suites are located in one of our larger villas. Each is uniquely decorated based on one image selected from the Mexican lottery game. All suites have a king size bed or queen bed draped with hand made gauze canopy and bathrooms with oversized open-air showers. The suites have estuary and river view. Some of the suites have a private dock with rowboat.

Palafito Beach Front: (Nopalito) You can't sleep closer to the beach without camping out. Each "Nopalito" bungalow is styled in Hotelito's own unique manner, filled with authentically Mexican artwork and details. Sensuous daybeds, mosquito nets, and oversized bathrooms complete these oceanfront cabanas. There is one larger Nopalito suite available. This room is located near the Hotelito beach club and pool, on a wide stretch of virgin beach.
Palafito Room: Individual rooms located in one of our larger villas. Each is uniquely decorated based on one image selected from the Mexican lottery game. All rooms have gauze-netted beds, a private terrace and individual bathroom with open air shower. Most rooms overlook the estuary and the river.
