Day 01 | Arrive Chennai. Reception and assistance on arrival. Transfer to Covelong Beach. Overnight Fisherman's Cove. | Day 02 | Day trip to Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram. Kanchipuram is one of the seven sacred cities of India. Spend the morning visiting the temples that are scattered all across the city. Kanchipuram is also famous for its silk Afternoon visit the shore temples at Mahabalipuram which were built between the 5th and 8th centuries. The temples and rock carvings here are notable for the freshness and simplicity of their folk art. Overnight Fisherman's cove. | Day 03 | Drive to Pondicherry. Visit the Sri Aurobindo Ashram and its offshoot Auroville. The other place of interest is the Museum which has an interesting display of a variety of exhibits. Overnight Pondicherry. | Day 04 | After breakfast return to Chennai. Afternoon half day city tour. Evening flight to Bangalore. Overnight Bangalore. | Day 05 | Half day tour of Lallbagh ( the botanical gardens ), the Bull temple and Tippu Sultan's summer palace. After lunch drive to Mysore Enroute visit the Ranganathitoo Bird Sanctuary & Srirangapatnam, the ruins of the capital of Tipu Sultan, one of the great warriors of the South. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight Mysore. | Day 06 | Visit Chamundi Hills, City Palace, and the Art gallery. Evening visit the Brindavan gardens. overnight Mysore. | Day 07 | Transfer to Belur & Halebid to visit the Hoysala temples. The Hoysala temples are one of the most intricately carved temples in the South. The carvings depict the everyday life of the people. The temples were built around 1110 AD. Overnight Hassan. | Day 08 | Return to Bangalore via Sravanabelagola, one of the oldest and most important Jain pilgrimage centres in India. The main attraction is the huge statue of Lord Gomateshvara (17m high). It is the world's tallest monolithic statue (carved out of a single piece of rock). It's simplicity is in complete contrast to the complexity of the Hoysala temples. Evening depart.
