Day 01 | Arrive Bangalore. Reception and assistance on arrival. Transfer to hotel. Half day city tour. Overnight Bangalore. |
Day 02 | After breakfast drive to Mysore. Enroute visit the Ranganathitoo Bird Sanctuary & Srirangapatnam, the ruins of the capital of Tipu Sultan, one of the great warriors of the South. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight Mysore. |
Day 03 | Morning visit Chamundi Hills famous for the Nandi Bull. Carved out of solid rock, it is five meters high and one of the largest statues in India. Evening visit Brindavan Gardens. Overnight Mysore. |
Day 04 | Transfer to Belur & Halebid to visit the Hoysala temples. The Hoysala temples are one of the most intricately carved temples in the South. The carvings depict the everyday life of the people. The temples were built around 1110 AD. Overnight Hassan. |
Day 05 | Return to Bangalore via Sravanabelagola, one of the oldest and most important Jain pilgrimage centres in India. The main attraction is the huge statue of Lord Gomteshvara (17m high). It is the world's tallest monolithic statue (carved out of a single piece of rock). It's simplicity is in complete contrast to the complexity of the Hoysala temples. Evening flight out.
