Hike, Bike, Ride Horseback, Canoe, Cave, and Snorkel from
Jungle to Sea
Experience Belize's wild jungle, Tikal's magnificent Mayan pyramids,
and the turquoise waters of the barrier reef. With local guides, explore
the jungle on horseback and foot and delight in a stunning variety of
wildlife. Mountain bike quiet dirt roads, canoe the gentle Macal River
and snorkel crystal-clear Caribbean waters.
Day 1 Chaa Creek Resort. From Belize City we shuttle to Chaa
Creek, a jungle eco-retreat set amidst a lush landscape. Visit the unique
Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center en route. This afternoon explore
the Butterfly Farm and Natural History Museum at Chaa Creek and take
a swim in the Macal River.
Days 2-3 Xunantunich-Macal River-Che Chem Ha Cave-Vaca Falls.
Ready for action? Mountain bike to the ancient ruins of Xunantunich
and canoe tranquil waters of the Macal River. Horseback ride through
jungle and pastures. Explore Che Chem Ha Cave with 2,000-year-old Mayan
pottery. Hike to Vaca Falls and a well-earned swim at Black Rock.
Days 4-5 Tikal-Placencia. Transfer to Guatemala to thoroughly
explore Tikal's renowned Mayan ruins. Catch the glow of sunset from
atop Mundo Perdido and enjoy the toucans and parrots in the jungle below.
Awaken to the sounds of howler monkeys and shuttle back to Belize City
for a scenic flight to Placencia, home to the best white sand beaches
in Belize.
Days 6-7 Belize Barrier Reef-Robert's Grove. Enjoy a day of snorkeling
or scuba diving in the turquoise waters of the Belize Barrier Reef.
Take time to just relax and unwind in your Caribbean paradise, enjoying
the sailing, sea kayaking, snorkeling, biking and tennis at Robert's
Grove.
Days 8-9 Robert's Grove-Flights Home. A boat tour up the river
includes a short hike, swim and a local meal in Monkey River Town. Sightings
may include manatees, dolphins, crocodiles, howler monkeys, iguanas
and a variety of birds and waterfowl. Our adventure concludes with a
return flight to Belize City to connect with flights home.
