Australia Outback, Reef and Rainforest

Contact me for a full detailed trip outline.

Hike, Ride Horseback, 4-Wheel, Motor Bike, Surf, Sail, Snorkel, Dive, and Sea Kayak in the "Land Down Under"

Experience the magic and intrigue of Australia. Hike on secluded beaches and through virgin rainforest to spectacular waterfalls. Snorkel and dive the world's largest and most stunning barrier reef and see the Outback on horseback. Top it all off with savory cuisine, comfortable accommodations and unforgettable Aussie charm.

Days 1-2 Brisbane-Blackall Range-Alexandria Bay. Our first stop is the famous Australia Zoo, home of Steve Irwin, the "Crocodile Hunter"! Spend the following day hiking through rainforest to two large waterfalls and later along the coast past picturesque beach coves and blow holes to spectacular Hell's Gate, a sandstone bluff that rears from the sea.

Days 3-5 Noosa Beach-Fraser Island. Absolute beginners are the norm at Noosa Beech, the ideal learn-to-surf spot on the Queensland coast. Hop the ferry to Fraser Island, with World Heritage Park status and an incredibly diverse range of birds, marine and wild life. Hike to beautiful blue Lake McKenzie for a swim in this inland freshwater lake. Enjoy the fabulous Kingfisher Bay Eco-Resort with its assortment of amenities.

Days 6-8 Great Barrier Reef. Live aboard the "Venus II" as we snorkel and scuba dive on the Great Barrier Reef, home to hundreds of species of coral, fish, and mollusks. We move each day to new parts of the reef for you to explore.

Days 9-10 Myella Cattle Station. Into the Outback and the hospitality of Peter and Olive Eather on their working cattle station! Ride horseback, hang out with the orphaned baby kangaroos, ride a motor bike or 4-wheeler, watch the sun set over the boab trees and listen to a good yarn around the campfire.

Days 11-12 Eungella National Park. Hike through rainforest atop the Clarke Range and search for the elusive platypus. Trek through Finch Hatton Gorge to the stunning Araluen Falls and The Wheel of Fire for a refreshing swim in the clear water of the pools.

Days 13-14 Whitsunday Islands and Departure. Sea kayak to a beautiful beach on tiny White Rock Island for a swim or a snorkel. Take a bush walk and later look for the turtles and dolphins that call Cane Cocky's Beach home.
