Amirim-Unique Vegetarian Village B&B style-Israel



Amirim is a quiet, calm, vegetarian village, surrounded by nature, 650 meter above sea level, located on the first hills on the picturesque road to Tsfat (some spell Safed), facing the beautiful view of Yam Kinneret (Sea of Galilee). Amirim was established in 1958 as a vegetarian village, where residents do not eat their fellow animals for health, ethical, and ecological reasons. Today there are about 100 families in Amirim, some provide accommodation. There are three 2-room units for families and seven 1-room units for couples and families with a child. All units boast high standards and offer similar amenities. Garden, flowers, herbs and fruit trees surround the guesthouses. Some rooms are facing the view, while some are more private, in our orchard. All of our guesthouses contain a big jacuzzi bathtub; on the porch, facing the view of the Kinneret Lake, or inside, with more privacy. Each guesthouse features: air-conditioning, private phone, CD/tape/radio combination, big color TV, hair dryer, beddings and towels, and a fully equipped kitchen that includes toaster-oven, gas stove, refrigerator, electric water heater, serving dishes, cooking utensils, oil, coffee, regular tea, herb tea and brown/white sugar. There are several vegan/vegetarian restaurants in Amirim. During season, holidays and weekends, all are open. Two are open year-round. There is also a supermarket in Amirim, where you can buy your own food and cook for yourself in your room. What's there to do in Amirim? Amirim has many holistic and alternative health treatments including Biofeedback therapy, reflexology, shiatsu, different types of massage treatments, aromatherapy, Feldenkries method, acupuncture and Chinese medicine, Tarot card reading, reiky, and even beauty saloon and natural cosmetics. Amirim boasts beautiful hikes, spectacular view points, herb garden where you can sit in a hammock and learn about nature healing, art galleries where you can enjoy or buy wood crafts, jewelry, ceramics, and other hand made things from natural materials. There is a sculpture garden in Amirim, surrounded by the natural forest (an extension of the Israeli museum in Jerusalem), and there are jeep tours, that take you to wonderful places where no one can reach in a regular car. During season (June-September) there is a full size swimming pool and of course nice parks and playgrounds for children. What's there to do in the Area? We can recommend many other activities in the area for you. hikes to the springs and waterfalls of the Galilee and the Golan heights, cannu and kayak trips in the Jordan, cabelcars into the caves of rosh hanikra or from manara rock and the snowy mount hermon.
