Your hotel: The elegance of Balinese architecture and hospitality flourish at Hotel Tjampuhan, located just west of Ubud. Discover the lost historical jungle path through the sacred mountain from the rainforest at the north (Tamblingan area) to the rice bowl at mid Bali ( Jatiluwih village).
This trek will give you opportunity to examine the geological process of Lake Tamblingan, Lake Buyan and Lake Bratan. These lakes are important for Bali's famous irrigation system called Subak.
This path is an ancient trail used by the villagers and local traders for centuries and later on by the Dutch and Japanese during the colonial time. About 1960's this path was no longer used with the arrival of motorbikes and cars. Walking beneath the canopy of the rainforest, along the way, we will find various plants such as mountain orchids, fern trees, palms and giant trees, mushrooms, fungus, etc.
In this tranquility, we can hear the birds singing and absorb the majestic beauty of the surrounding mountains.
Overnight at a traditional village sharing house with the locals, giving you the opportunity to observe closer the daily activities of the villagers, their way of cooking and living, complimented by the spectacular view of rice terraces which Jatiluwih is famous for. On the last day, visit Pura Batukaru, one of Bali's sacred temple located near the peak of Mount Batukaru, presumed as an ancient sanctuary since prehistoric time.
