Thai – Raman Songkran Festival At Phra Pa Daeng

“Songkran”
is an ancient Sanskrit word means passing, changing or moving. As per the authentic Oriental Lunar Calendar & Horoscope, Songkran Festival is the period of the year that the sun move from the Pisces Zodiac to the Aries Zodiac. In the Solar System of Universe, the excursion of the sun from the previous Pisces Zodiac to the actual Pisces and step the further Aries Zodiac takes around 12 month. Hence, once the sun move to the new Aries Zodiac in each year, the people in South East Asia including Thai off course, celebrate the new era of the year.

Phra Pa Daeng is an outskirt town at the mouth of Chao Phya River located at 30 Kms southward of Bangkok. Songkran Festival at Phra Pa Daeng is a New Year Festival of Thai-Raman (Mon) ancestry who live here and held according to the authentic Thai-Raman (Mon) Lunar Calendar yearly on the first Sunday after Official Songkran Day (April 13 th ). The event is organized according to the authentic Thai-Raman (Mon) Cultural; Songkran Beauty Pageants Parade and Freeing Birds & Fish. The traditional Thai-Raman (Mon) entertainment; Saba Mon (Pitch & Toss Game), Thayae Mon (Musical Composition of Mon) and Mon Classical Dance can also be seen in this festival. Arrives in Bangkok by ….. Transfer from Bangkok International Airport to your hotel in Bangkok. Day at leisure Overnight at your hotel

Sunday April 25, 2004 Bangkok – Phra Pa Daeng – Bangkok (B/L)

Breakfast

AM After breakfast, transfer to Phra Pa Daeng, an outskirt town at the mouth of Chao Phya River located at 30 Kms southward of Bangkok. Visit to the main attractions of the cute Thai-Raman (Mon) Community; the Ancient Fortress, Thai-Raman architecture style Buddhist temples and the Navy Historical Park at the Thunder-Bolt Cape

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant

PM After lunch, attend the colourful procession of Floral Procession, Songkran Beauty Pageants Parade as well as Freeing Birds & Fish Parade before returning to the hotel. Time will be at leisure at your hotel until evening.

EVENING Transfer once again to Phra Pa Daeng Town to attend Light & Sound with Traditional Thai-Raman Entertainment at Phlaeng Fai Fah Fortress. Around 22.00 hrs return to your hotel Overnight at your hotel
