All Asia Pass General Information

The All Asia Pass is available for purchase only to U.S. residents with U.S. mailing addresses or to Canadian residents with Canadian mailing addresses. The following All Asia Pass Official Rules are for travel in 2003 or 2004 and contain both USD and CAD prices. Please note that prices quoted in USD (U.S. dollars) apply to U.S. residents only and must be purchased through a U.S. ARC appointed agency, and prices quoted in CAD (Canadian dollars) apply to Canadian residents only and must be purchased through a Canadian IATA appointed agency. All prices are per person. The individual passenger making the payment for the All Asia Pass is hereafter referred to as “purchaser”.

The price of the basic All Asia Pass is USD $1199.00 per person for U.S. residents or CAD $1899.00 per person for Canadian residents. Prices do not include U.S. or Canadian taxes and foreign taxes and fees and insurance surcharges (see Taxes and Fees section). Purchaser may bring up to three accompanying guests (per booking) traveling on the same itinerary. Note: purchaser must be at least 18 years of age.

The following discounts apply when qualification criteria are met (only one discount per person of any kind may be applied to an All Asia Pass purchase):

A USD $100.00 discount per person (U.S. residents) or CAD $200.00 discount per person (Canadian residents) for students age 24 and below with valid student I.D., seniors age 55 and above with proof of age, and children under 12.

A USD $200.00 discount per person (U.S. residents) or CAD $400.00 discount per person (Canadian residents) for registered and confirmed Cathay Pacific CyberTravelers. The CyberTraveler discount applies to the CyberTraveler's ticket (the purchaser) plus up to three accompanying guests traveling on the same itinerary.

The basic All Asia Pass includes roundtrip Economy Class transpacific air transportation (Sunday through Thursday only) between a Cathay Pacific North America gateway to Hong Kong, plus Economy Class travel between Hong Kong and any or all of the following 17 qualifying basic destinations: Bangkok, Cebu, Denpasar (Bali), Fukuoka, Jakarta, Karachi, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Nagoya, Osaka, Penang, Sapporo, Seoul, Singapore, Surabaya, Taipei, Tokyo.

Travel may occur during a consecutive 21-day period that begins the day you arrive in Hong Kong from North America. For U.S. residents, the transpacific travel is between New York, San Francisco or Los Angeles and Hong Kong.

For Canadian residents, transpacific travel is between either Vancouver, B.C. or Toronto and Hong Kong.

Please note, depending upon your exact flight itinerary - when you travel, the order of when you visit each city and how long you stay - it may not be feasible to visit all of the other 17 cities listed above in the basic 21-day period. All travel must originate in North America, and cannot under any circumstances originate in Asia.

Valid outbound transpacific travel dates are as follows:

For 2003 you may depart: February 9, 2003 through May 15, 2003 and August 14, 2003 through December 3, 2003 with last return date of December 11, 2003.

Minimum stay is seven days. The maximum stay is 21 days after arrival in Hong Kong or 30/45/60/90 days if the validity period extension add-ons are purchased (see Rule #9 for optional add-on fees). Travel period is calculated as follows: the first day begins on the day you arrive in Hong Kong from North America and the last day is when you depart Hong Kong for North America.

No direct consumer bookings will be accepted under any circumstances. Booking and purchase must be made through a U.S. ARC-appointed travel agent or a Canadian IATA-appointed travel agent holding a Cathay Pacific Carrier Identification Plate (CIP). If you do not have a travel agent, please refer to your local business directory under "travel agencies" and choose one that is convenient.

Your travel agent must book your reservation and must obtain the required booking approval from Cathay Pacific at least 30 days prior to departure. Full payment accompanied with the completed All Asia Pass Ticket Purchase Form must be received by the Cathay Pacific ticketing office within seven working days (M-F) of the approval date.

Rush fees apply if your booking is made within 30 days and/or your payment is received within seven days of the date of departure, please see Rule #25.
Cathay Pacific will send tickets to the purchaser or the travel agent (depending on which you prefer) via 2nd day FedEx or similar courier service at least five working days (M-F) before your date of departure. If you wish to receive your tickets sooner than five days prior to departure, a rush fee will apply, see Rule #25.

Optional add-ons to the basic All Asia Pass are available for an additional fee as follows (reminder, USD prices apply to U.S. residents and CAD prices apply to Canadian residents and are per person):

Passenger must return to their country of departure. CX four digit flights between Kuala Lumpur and Penang and codeshare flights operated by other airlines may not be utilized.

Once you are in Asia you can travel to any or all of the other 17 cities listed in Rule #4 but you may only travel to any single city once (except Hong Kong).

You may also travel to Colombo, Mumbai, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Shanghai, Beijing, Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney or Auckland if you purchase the required add-on(s).

Traveling through a city but not leaving the airport on your way to another destination does not count as a visit to a city. Please remember that you must select all of your destination cities (as shown on your All Asia Pass tickets) before you depart from North America. Once you have departed for Hong Kong, you cannot add a new city or substitute one city for another.

For travel within Asia, you can fly roundtrip from Hong Kong to any basic or add-on destination listed or you may fly to one city and return to Hong Kong from another provided you "bridge the gap" between the differing cities by purchasing transportation separately from your travel agent. In the event open-jaw travel involves add-on destinations of differing prices, you must pay the higher of the two add-on cities, but not both.
