Day 1: BANGKOK - CITY PILLAR SHRINE – MASSAGE AT WAT PHO – MEDITATION AT WAT MAHATHAT (L, D)

Pick up at the hotel in Bangkok and then proceed to pay respect at the City Pillar or “Lak Muang Shrine”. Thai people believe that if you come to pay respect and make a wish here at City Pillar Shrine, the wish may become true. Continue to Grand Palace - the most beautiful temple of an ancient Siamese court. It used to be the residence of the Kings of Bangkok. Admire palaces which were used for different occasions; the Funeral Palace, the Reception Palace, the Throne Hall, the Coronation Hall, the Royal Guest house and the Beautiful Emerald Buddha Temple. One trains one’s mind so that it can see the four-point Supreme Truth that forms the core of Buddha’s teaching: suffering, what causes it, the end of suffering, and the path to that end. Even if you are not interested in Buddhism, meditation is a valuable training that can be applied to your daily life, for it helps with concentration and when done correctly can lead to a state of peace and calmness that’s beyond worldly joys.
