GOLF CHALLENGE – CHIANG MAI

GOLF CHALLENGE – CHIANG MAI

4 Days/3 Nights..we can extend as you like

Chiang Mai “Rose of the North”, is Thailand’s second largest city and easily accessible by a one-hour flight north from Bangkok. It was once the capital of Laan Na, an ancient and independent kingdom. Today, Chiang Mai has retained its rich cultural heritage and boasts some of Thailand’s most spectacular and challenging courses. We are pleased to recommend a selection of the best courses in and around Chiang Mai and will be delighted to offer our itinerary for your valuable golf time in Chiang Mai as follows;

THE GREEN VALLEY GOLF COURSE
(18 Holes 7,177 Yards, Par 72) The largest course in the region was built in 1972 by Dennis Griffith and is located in the lovely Mae Rim Valley. Green Valley is a true championship layout. Although level from start to finish, the water hazards affecting 13 holes will provide enjoyment for every level of golfer. In particular, the “Island Greens” on holes 9 and 16 pose real threats as does hole 1, a par 5 of 610 yards from the back tees. There is a choice of three tees. Despite the fact that a bird’s eye view would see as much blue water as green vegetation, the course is not really a “Blue Monster” and offer a fair challenge for a good round. The deluxe clubhouse is one of Thailand’s best with excellent changing rooms, a well-equipped pro shop, driving range, putting green and fine dining restaurant overlooking the green.

CHIANG MAI LAMPHUN GOLF CLUB (18 Holes 6,808 Yards, Par 72) An half-hour drive from Chiang Mai brings you to golf in “The Valley of the Golden Teak” designed by local designer, Dr. Sukhum Sukapanpotharam. Chiang Mai Lamphun Golf Course was the official venue for 1995 SEA Games (Southeast Asia’s Olympics). Its contoured terrain, interspersed with creeks and water hazards offers a challenge to golfers of all handicaps. No less than 11 holes, including two spectacular par 3s have water hazards with dog-legs on nine of them. The course, built in 1990 is not very long at 6,808 yards from the blue tees and 6,199 from the white. At 5,500 for the ladies (all at par 72) with par 5 holes; #13 at 595 yards and #18 at 549 yards from the back tees, the fairways are quite long and made even more challenging by the addition of water and dog-legs. The club features a driving range, putting green, pro shop, plus good changing rooms. A pleasant open-air restaurant overlooks the 9th and 18th greens. All in all, Chiang Mai Lamphun Golf Club is a “must play” for golfers visiting Thailand’s northern capital city.
