10D-Bangkok/ River Kawai/ Golden Triangle

 

These packages are a combination of modules from my site that have been designed to create a full package options..they can be extended, shortened, modified , or priced as is. We dont price these packages as they vary with seasons, class of hotels, etc. Contact us and we can rate for you according to your date of travel, number in party, and level of lodging chosen.

Day 1 : Arrival Bangkok
Arrive at Bangkok International Airport. Welcome by our guide and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation at hotel in Bangkok.

Day 2 : Bangkok (B)
Breakfast at the hotel. Half Day City and Temples Tour(Join-in): Pick up from the hotel and drive through the center of Bangkok to visit three of the most gorgeous Buddhist temples in Bangkok. Wat Traimit with its impressive three-meter tall, 5 tons, solid gold Buddha image which gleams like no other gold artifact. Wat Pho, Bangkok's oldest and largest temple, which features the largest reclining Buddha and the Chedi of the kings. Wat Benchamabophit, the Marble Temple, a prime example of modern Thai architecture. After visiting the temples close off the tour with a shopping trip before returning to your hotel. Afternoon free at leisure. Accommodation at your hotel in Bangkok.

Day 3 : Depart Bangkok (B)
Breakfast at the hotel. br>

Day 3
(2nd World War Historical & Natural & Cultural & Traditional Treasure) Pick up from Bangkok major hotels and depart for Kanchanaburi. Visit to JEATH War Museum, War Cemetery and Bridge over the River Kwai. Take a historic ride on Death Railway Train, Passing lush forest. Lunch Take a long-tailed boat from pier to get to Resotel, passing by unspoiled mountainous jungle scenery. Check-in on arrival.

Visit to the nearby ethnic Mon Tribal Village, enjoy Elephant Riding through ifie bamboo forest. Exciting with canoeing, view a beautiftil scenery along Kwai Noi river. Dinner, followed by a boat ride to see 45 minute presentation of Mon Dance and return for overnight. (at Restotel)

Day 4
(Natural Healing Thai Style & Aromatherapy)
Hearty American Breakfast. After breakfast relax with Thai style solar bath and take a walking tour to visit to a herbal and horticultural garden and pick up fresh herbal plants for the Thai cooking course and the herbal steam bath. Lunch at the resort, followed by Royal Thai Traditional Massage & Herbal Pad & Herbal Steam Bath. Dinner and overnight (at Resotel)

Day 5

(Memorandum of the river Kwai Tests) Hearty American Breakfast. Visit to Lawa Cave, Explore the fascinating rock forrnations inside. (Foot Massage and herbal steam Bath are available at your leisure). Lunch Take a boat ride to Pier. Check-out and depart for pier. Arrive at pier and continue by van to Bangkok airport for flight to Chaing Mai.

Day 5: Arrive Chiang Mai Arrive at Chiang Mai and transfer from airport or railway station to the hotel in Chiang Mai. Accommodation at hotel in Chiang Mai.

Day 6: Chiang Mai (B) Breakfast at the hotel.

Half-Day Elephant At Work (SIC): Pick up from the hotel and drive to visit Mae Sa Elephant Camp located north of Chiang Mai and watch the demonstration of their powers by moving lumber and serving as a mode of transportation within the jungle area. On the way back, visit a beautiful orchid farm.

Handicraft Village (SIC): Visit the famous handicraft village and the factories at Borsang, usually called the Umbrella Village because of its many umbrella manufacturers. Practically the entire village consists of craft shops selling painted umbrellas, fans, silverware, straw handiwork, bamboo and teak, statuary, china, celadon and lacquer ware, along with common Chiang Mai and Northern Thai souvenirs, as well as quality items. Then we continue to Sankamphaeng District, which flourishes on silk and cotton weaving and observe how deft fingers transform bamboo, paper, silk and paint into beautiful umbrellas. Learn about the silk, woodcarving and making lacquer boxes and silverware.

After visit, transfer back to hotel.

Day 7
Visit the scenic and mountainous north of Thailand with unspoiled hill tribe villages and beautiful waterfalls. Explore the traditions of the Lisu, Akha and Palong tribes with their unique culture and get a glimpse into Burma from Mae Sai before you will reach the legendary Golden Triangle.

Day 7: CHIANG MAI - LISU LODGE (L, D)

Drive to the mountain temple of Wat Prathat Doi Suthep, the most famous landmark of Chiang Mai and then proceed up the mountain passing the King's Winter Palace of Phuping.

Turn onto a rough dirt road to the Chang Khien Coffee Research Project and continue to the white Hmong village of Chang Khien to enjoy a quick cup of steaming mountain tea with a village family. A one- hour drive along a mountain ridge and then down to the Huay Thung Thao, lunch at an Orchid Farm.
Drive one hour and enjoy such activities as elephant, ox-cart riding and river bamboo rafting. Then proceed along a rough dirt road to the Akha village of Huay Pong and continue to Lisu Lodge to observe hill-tribe activities of Lisu and Akha people such as silverware & music instrument making, embroidering and organic gardening.

Then a village trip guided by one of the family heads to see a little of Lisu customs and culture. Dinner at the Lodge and enjoy Lisu music from one of Lisu banjo players and dance performed by village children. Overnight at Lisu Lodge.

Day 8: LISU LODGE - THA TON (B, L, D)

After breakfast at the lodge, leave Lisu Lodge north to Chiang Dao via Mae Malai. Arrive Chiang Dao and visit Chiang Dao caves. Then continue to Rim Doi Resort for lunch and after that drive (20 mins) to visit the small town of Arunothai on the Burmese border.

Next proceed over spectacular mountain roads to Doi Ang Khang (1.5 hrs), a large botanical research station where many temperate flowers and crops are grown at high altitude. After 30 minutes visit, continue to a very beautiful and traditional high altitude Palong village (Nor Lae). Visit these friendly people with their colorful costumes and then drive to Mae Kok River Village for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: THA TON - GOLDEN TRIANGLE (B, L)

After breakfast at the resort, depart from Thaton River View for Doi Mae Salong and visit the hill tribes and Chinese market (30 min). Visit the Akha Lorcha and the Yao village of Lao Sip.

Continue to Mae Chan on to Mae Sai, a border town to Myanmar and have lunch at a local restaurant in Mae Sai. (*Optional visit to Burma - the border town of Tachilek.) Proceed to the Golden Triangle for check-in at the Anantara Resort and Spa Golden Triangle.

Overnight at Anantara Resort and Spa Golden Triangle (former Baan Boran) or Imperial Golden Triangle.

Day 10: GOLDEN TRIANGLE - CHIANG RAI (B, L)

After breakfast, leave hotel to visit Hill tribe Museum. Then, proceed to the Golden Triangle and take 1.5 hrs long-tail boat trip to Chiang Khong, lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, drive to Chiang Rai and have a short city tour. Transfer to Chiang Rai airport for departure to Bangkok.

In some instances a overnite in Bangkok at a airport hotel is needed due to flight schedules..we will include in your trip quote.
