Rainforest trekking and hill tribes for physically fit tourists (Minimum 2 persons)
This trip can be done by local truck wich is a little cheaper, but not as comfortable
PROGRAM: Daily departure from Chiang Mai to Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai
Day 1: Chiang Mai – Lanna Farm
Late morning, depart from Chiang Mai with a 4 WD vehicle to Chinese and Tibetan tribe (Lisu village) including lunch with Lisu family.
Afternoon, start with 3 hours walk through the beautiful jungle and landscape to the Hmong tribe village passing the local's cultivation supply small dam. Then short transfer by 4 WD to the Thai Country Living House of Lanna Farm.
Dinner and overnight at the typical northern Thai teak house, the Lanna Farm.
Day 2: Lanna Farm – Akha Mountain Lodge
Breakfast on the terrace those overviews hundreds of rais of rice paddies and scenic mountain ranges in the background. Then short transfer by 4WD to Maekon Reservoir for starting with 5-6 hours hiking to the Akha Hill tribe village with lunch en route.
Then, hiking through the fantastic forest and passing by a friendly Lahu tribe village. The dinner and night is spent sleeping beneath the stars at the Akha Mountain Lodge.
Day 3: Akha Mountain Lodge – Lahu Hut
Breakfast at the lodge. Continue with 5-6 hours hiking to Huay Ton Tong including lunch on the way. Hiking through the rain forest and passing a small Lahu Hill tribe village with a visit. Dinner and overnight at the simple Lahu Hut where is surrounded by mountains and unspoilt wilderness.
Day 4: Lahu Hut – Wiang Pa Pao
Early breakfast at the Lahu Hut. Start with 6-7 hours hiking to the Black Lahu village of Huay Chomphu including lunch at the lovely rainbow waterfall, which is 100 meters high and also enjoy swimming in the natural pool.
At the end of the trek, catch the 4 WD for transfer along the beautiful dirt road to Suanthip Vana Resort, the beautiful garden resort hotel by a river bank.
Overnight at Suanthip Vana Resort.
Day 5: Wiang Pa Pao – Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai
Breakfast at the resort. See you off to Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai by 4 WD vehicle.
